We flew on about 4 or 5 planes within Ethiopia

The whole gang at the orphanage in Mekele

Natanel was playing with the kids doing physics games using balloons.

Fun with bubbles

They have 5 cows here that they get milk from, one donkey to haul materials, and 500 chickens

We were touring the 8 acre compound

This is what every meal was like--built in babysitters that loved Zion instantly and took care of him via entertainment.

We hired a land cruiser to drive us from Axum to Mekele so that we could experience this countryside. It was a 6 hour drive, but pictures just don't do it justice. It was incredible.

Here we are in Lalibella where they have churches carved straight out of the rock.

Can you find Natanel and Zion?

This is the most beautiful woman! She is quite old in age, but looks and seems so young. We spent all day in her home. They killed a sheep for us an we ate many dishes from that. In this photo, we were having a traditional coffee ceremony.

This is the stove used to make enjera.

This is traditional food (it's delicious, don't let the mushy appearance fool you) The bread all the dishes are on top of is the enjera.

One of Zion's many admirers

View of Gondar from a beautiful hilltop with our good friend and host. He showed us good time in Gondar (he is the one who killed the sheep)

The Gondar Castle

Making friends in the market in Gondar

Every meal was like this

Our friends at the King's Hotel in Addis. You must stay here if you ever go to Ethiopia!

Zion's bestest friend, Solomon. He showed us all around Addis and was a sweet friend.

In the home of locals who live in poverty. But they welcomed us in to share stories, song, and popcorn! Zion loved his first tastes of popcorn!

Coffee ceremony with Solomon and his girlfriend

Doctor at a clinic who hitched a ride with us back to the city.

The baby fell asleep and all the kids wanted to take a peak at him.

Kids in Nazaret

Our driver and friend who also loved Zion

Here is the animal bone Zion was knawing on. In this photo he almost handed it over to me, but decided he enjoyed it too much.
Did I mention that none of us got sick once?! God was watching out for us for sure!
